Partially halogenated fluorocarbons (HFCs) have no ozone depletion potential (ODP = 0) and lower direct global warming potential (GWP = 122-14,310) than PFCs, as well as a shorter life cycle (1.4-270 years). The European F-Gas Directive and the Kyoto Protocol seek to radically reduce the use of HFCs.
